Utah This Month: April 2025

With winter fading in the rearview mirror, April marks the true start of Utah's riding season. Chances of unexpected snowstorms are lessened, melting snow reveals winding roads, and the landscape bursts with spring blooms. Beyond the rapidly improving riding conditions, April also brings a vibrant calendar of events across the state.

  • Bryce Canyon: No advance reservations required.

  • Canyonlands: No advance reservations required. However, traveling the White Rim Trail does require a backcountry permit.

Statewide seasonal roads

All roads that are not maintained during winter typically remain closed (and gated) until at least May, or June if following a heavy snow year.

Even if the roads appear to be clear, if the road gates are closed, do not attempt to pass through.
